Private Coaching

The SDYC Junior Program will now be offering private lessons for Junior Sailors with one of our fantastic instructors! These opportunities are available to sailors at all skill levels, from Sea Urchins to advanced racing and everything in between.

$65/hour, Two hour minimum. Charged to SDYC Member Accounts.
Charter Fees: $10 per lesson for SDYC owned boats

Schedule a Lesson

Please fill out the form to schedule a lesson with an SDYC Coach.

  1. Fill out the information on your sailor.
  2. Indicate your coach preferences:
    • You can list the coaches in order of preference and they will be offered the hours, subject to their availability.
    • If you do not have a preference in coach, please select “No Preference”
  3. Write in your desired dates and times. Please try to schedule lessons at least one week in advance. For shorter notice, please email [email protected] to inquire about availability.

Cancellation Policy

No refunds for cancellations within 48 hours of scheduled private lessons.

Black Out Dates

Private lessons will not be available during major regattas or holidays. It may be difficult to schedule lessons during regularly scheduled Junior Program classes.

For Coaches

Coaches who have independently organized or scheduled a private lesson at SDYC must complete and submit this form to request approval for their lessons. Once submitted, your form will be sent to the Junior Sailing Director, Assistant Director, and Head Coach for review. Please submit these forms at least 48 hours prior to your lesson to allow enough time to review your request and organize equipment needs. We will do our best to support these lessons, but may decline requests due to conflicts with scheduled events, practices, equipment availability, weather conditions, late notice, or other reasons at the discretion of management.
