SDYC Guest Dock

The weekend of June 15-17 is our annual Staycation at the guest dock in front of the SDYC clubhouse, celebrating the start of the summer season. On Friday night, starting at 5 PM we will have a Pot Luck/BYOB party on the dock. All Cruising Fleet members are invited to attend and should bring an appetizer to share and whatever you want to drink. On Saturday, our annual BBQ will be held nearby on the Sail Lawn (note that separate reservations are required for the BBQ) click here to register for the BBQ.

For those that want to med-moor at the club, this event is always fully booked due to the limited dock space; therefore, advanced reservations are required. It’s a great opportunity for boats not at SDYC to enjoy the club and we will give first priority to those CF members that do not have a slip. The following registration/ prioritization process will be used:

  • All CF members can sign up for the Staycation starting Thursday, May 24 at 1:00 PM.
  • Space assignments will be first come, first selected, with priority given to those who do not have a slip at SDYC and register before 9:00 on Monday, May 28, and then in order of sign up.

We do not know the exact number of boats that will be assigned a spot as this is contingent on the beams of the boats that register but we anticipate that about 10-12 boats should be able to med moor at the guest dock. You will be notified if you have been selected or put on a wait list in the order of date/time of registration.

Friday Activities

  • Med mooring will begin at 2:00 PM and details will be issued later
  • Happy hour with live music entertainment on the dock starts at 5:00. Please bring your own drinks with an appetizer to share. Tables/chairs/paper goods will be provided by the Cruising Fleet.

Saturday Activities

  • Hang out at the club and enjoy your boat and club.  Annual BBQ will be held later in the day so be sure to register for it.

Sunday Activities

  • This is Father’s Day and the club will be doing a brunch so there will be no dining services available.  This will provide a good opportunity to explore some of the nearby restaurants.
  • Med moor will begin breaking up around 1:30

Our Cruise Captains for this event are Chuck and Kelly Dahill. If it’s like previous Staycations, you can be assured some great memories of the weekend.
