For nearly a decade, Southern California businesses have joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Leukemia Cup Regatta, which raises funds to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. We would like you to be involved in this worthwhile cause happening on May 2nd-4th at the San Diego Yacht Club.
The Leukemia Cup Regatta raises much needed funds to battle the number one disease killer of children under the age of seventeen. Your gift certificate or item can make a difference to the success of this event and bring us one step closer to the cure. I invite you to join in and raise more than a sail to fight blood cancer.

We are issuing a challenge to the San Diego Business Community to help us launch the second annual Leukemia Cup Corporate Challenge Race. Be a part of something special for the best Corporate Racing Challenge on San Diego Bay.
Experience yacht racing on beautiful San Diego Bay aboard one of our most active and energized racing fleets in San Diego. The J/105 racing fleet will provide our most competitive San Diego racing boats with an experienced racing skipper on board to give your team the racing experience of a lifetime.
The $2500 minimum donation includes:
- Opportunity to contribute to the mission of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Value = Priceless
- Racing aboard a J/105 35’ racing yacht on Friday, May 2, 2008.
Value = $750
- Wine/Beer/snacks will be provided.
- Corporate name/logo on main sail. Value = $500
- Up to 5 corporate racing crew aboard each yacht. Value = $1000
- Beautiful trophy to the winning Corporate Challenge team.
- Up to 5 spectators aboard the spectator boat to watch the race and cheer on the team. Value = $500
- Commemorative Crew wear. Value = $500
- 5 commemorative team shirts with company logo
- 5 commemorative hats with company logo
- (additional merchandise available for purchase for company wide involvement)
- Commemorative photos from race course

Buy Down Your Rating for the Leukemia Cup
Your your wallet to help you win the Leukemia Cup! The random leg arbitrary handicaps assigned by the SDYC Handicapper will be further adjusted numerically upwards by 1 second per mile for each $100 donated or raised by that competing boat resulting in a 'Leukemia Cup Regatta (LCR) Handicap'. The 'LCR Handicap' will be used to score the Leukemia Cup Regatta.
You may make a donation on your Yachting Cup/Leukemia Cup registration, and the amount will be credited to your Leukemia Cup rating. Or you may make a donation at registration on Thursday, May 1st at SDYC.
