your entertainment.
- The Commodore’s theme this year is the Junior Sailing Program.
- Yachts throughout the club will be open for Hospitality (see below).
- The History/Library Committee will feature a display on SDYC members who are yacht designers, and some of their yachts will be on display.
- There will be several complimentary food and beverage
stations for your gastronomic pleasure.
- Strolling musicians entertain you, and we are attempting to arrange for our usual perfect Opening Day weather.
Best Dressed Dock Competition
Members with vessels docked at the Club are requested to "Dress Ship" for the 125th "Opening Day" at the San Diego Yacht Club. As an incentive, the dock with the highest percentage of dressed yachts will be awarded a prize. The rize has been a dock cart full of beer and wine in previous years.
Opening Day is April 18, 2010, and a count will be made that morning prior to the ceremony.
Locate your signal flags or buy a new set, but be sure they are flying high on Opening Day. Flags do not have to be displayed in any particular order - create a colorful and festive appearance. So get in the spirit and "Dress Ship" for San Diego Yacht Club's 125th yachting season.

Opening Day Boat Hospitality
Sunday, April 18, 2010
On Opening Day at SDYC there is a time honored tradition for yacht owners to welcome other members and friends aboard their vessels after the Opening Day Ceremony.
Hospitality is a great way to celebrate the beginning of the San Diego Yacht Club's 125th yachting season, to meet new friends, to renew
acquaintances with old friends and to show off your boat to everyone. The Yacht Club will provide some snacks and beverages to help entertain your guests.
On Sunday morning, the Hospitality Committee will deliver the snacks and beverages to your vessel. They will also attach balloon bouquets to your bow or stern rail to help identify your boat as a "Hospitaly Vessel".
To participate in "Boat Hospitality", just fill out the application by Friday, April 16th, and mail, fax or hand deliver it to the SDYC Front Desk. You can also call the Front Desk to sign up at (619) 221-8400. Please compose and submit a one or two paragraph boat bio. Your boat name, slip #, and boat bio will appear in the program.
