 October 4, 2007: The Mexican Sailing Federation has announced that Ernesto Amtann will be the new Offshore Sailing Chairman. The Federation has chosen to partner with Vallarta Yacht Club in hosting the 2008 MEXORC. The race headquarters and all on and off water support will be provided by Vallarta Yacht Club.

San Diego Yacht Club has a long tradition of supporting sailing to and in Mexico, including the biennial race to the Mexican mainland since 1953. The traditional MEXORC buoy racing has been a long part of SDYC's experience in beautiful Banderas Bay.
