BOAT NAME: Simply Grand
BOAT TYPE: Grand Banks 42 Classic SKIPPER: Larry Fortmuller EXPERIENCE: 15 Years

FAVORITE DESTINATION:
Catalina is a favorite, so close, yet so different from the mainland. An easy weekend getaway.
FAVORITE BOATING EXPERIENCE: Perhaps it was a week long cruise through the Channel Islands where the boat proved itself, the adventure was wonderful, and we had a professional chef aboard to make things special!
ABOUT THE CREW: Tony Knox, Marty Paluga, & Tim Whelan
WHAT'S IN A NAME: "SIMPLY GRAND"
Because it is!
REASON FOR PURCHASING THIS BOAT:
As a sailor for years, a Grand Banks was just a natural progression when it was time to move to a powered vessel. For our family, Grand Banks was the right combination of safety, quality, comfort, and economy.
PREVIOUS BOATS OWNED:
This is my first boat. Previously, I belonged to sailing clubs over many years, so I used other people's boats. Perhaps I was smarter when I was young.
INTEREST IN THE FUBAR ODYSSEY:
Although we have taken the boat to Mexico previously, we have not ventured very far South. After a number of years of adding/refitting systems and improving most aspects of the boats capabilities (including stabilizers) it's ready for a Baja adventure.
BOATING STORY:
On the way home from Catalina, at about mid-channel, a fast power boat pulled up along side. I thought we were about to be robbed! The young men aboard were equpped with a compass (I assume). I gave them a course in answer to their question "Which way is Catalina?" Go figure.
