BOAT NAME: Eventide
BOAT TYPE:
Fleming 55
SKIPPER: Glen Justice
EXPERIENCE: 39 Years
CLUB: Balboa Yacht Club
BUILT:
2005
PURCHASED: 2006

FAVORITE DESTINATION:
At the moment we have less time than we'd like so Catalina Island and San Diego are our favorite trips. We have also joyously sailed BVI many times and our trip from SF to Ensenada was filled with natures wonders like Killer whales and miles of dolphin.

FAVORITE BOATING EXPERIENCE:
Recently sailing BVI along with our sons and family and showing the third generation (grandsons Milo 4 1/2 and Emmett 2 1/2) the wonders of Tortola and Virgin Gorda etc and the utter joy and freedom that is part of sailing anywhere!

ABOUT THE CREW:
My wonderful wife Jane, who has shared 39 years of exhilarating and OK sometimes terrifying experiences. My sons, Glen and John, both of whom have been sailing with us since 18 months of age. John and Bonnie Livingston, a highly skilled engineer and a former Bio-tech CEO.

WHAT'S IN A NAME: "EVENTIDE"
Eventide is a very nice time of being - not only calmness but also evening time. It is both nautical and romantic. The inherent tranquility in the name reflects the sea (sometimes) and congers thoughts of red sails and sunsets.

REASON FOR PURCHASING THIS BOAT:
We have mostly sailed in our life but wanted a trawler that would satisfy us for a long time. We shopped extensively and settled on the Fleming 55 as our per fect boat. The service and support of Chuck Hovey and the Fleming Family has been outstanding and confirmed our choice - Eventide is perfect - for us!

PREVIOUS BOATS OWNED:
Aside from the rowboat I built when I was 16, we have owned: Cal-20, Ranger 33, Cal 39, Erickson 39, Nor'Sea 27, Mason 43, Angleman32 (wooden ketch), a Grand Banks 42 and currently the Fleming 55 Eventide.

INTEREST IN THE FUBAR ODYSSEY:
The comraderie, the opportunity for friendship, AND adventure. Meeting people with similar interests and doing a voyage longer than we have done before in concert with a fleet.

BOATING STORY:
In 1970 at the age of 26, Jane and I began our sailing career with 3 lessons and the purchase of a Cal-20. We were yet to leave the dock! For the next year we white knuckled our way around S.F. bay. We inspired a gambling ring among my fellow interns as to just when we'd kill ourselves.
