BOAT NAME: DaFever
BOAT TYPE:
44' DeFever
SKIPPER: Irvin Fuller
EXPERIENCE: 28 Years
CLUB: Tyee Yacht Club
BUILT:
1985
PURCHASED: 1999

FAVORITE DESTINATION:
Puget Sound from Whidbey Island to Olympia. Because it was our first extended trip of approx 4 months living on our boat and adjusting to the boating lifestyle on a longterm basis. The friends we met and the multitude of places to boat were never ending.

FAVORITE BOATING EXPERIENCE:
Crossing the Columbia river bar at night with lots of ship traffic, raining and 1/4 mi visibility and a dredge in the middle of the channel. (NOT)

ABOUT THE CREW:
Wife (admiral) retired medical assistant and long time boating friends Craig and Chris Gaare. Craig is semi retired and Chris works for Northwest Natural gas co in Portland Oregon.

WHAT'S IN A NAME: "DAFEVER"
When our documentation papers were prepared we were asked if we wanted to change the name of the boat and we said of course. They gave us 1 day to come up with a name. We wanted to go with a playoff of the DeFever name and since it took us over a year to find this particular boat we decided on WE'VE GOT DaFever referring to both the boat and the urge for boating.

REASON FOR PURCHASING THIS BOAT:
We wanted a sea worthy long range cruiser with an open airy feeling and plenty of room for 2 people yet room for guests. The amount of storage space and excellent machinery access.

PREVIOUS BOATS OWNED:
16 ft and 21 foot Seaswirl and several ski boats. 25 foot Searay and then the big leap (Our present boat).

INTEREST IN THE FUBAR ODYSSEY:
The camaraderie of traveling with other boater interested in the same thing and the security it gave my wife for this adventure.

BOATING STORY:
Coming up with a way to keep critters off our boat when we anchored out. Having your husband run on deck barking like a dog at all hours of the night does NOT work. Although it is a funny sight when it happens in the middle of the night with him stark naked.
