Hazardous Materials
As established by the Environmental Protection Agency, the
Club may not accept materials not generated from the operation
of the Club. However, a well established alternative for
members exists. The City of San Diego Household Hazardous
Materials Collection Events collect on a monthly basis. The
collection events are a community service funded by the City
of San Diego Environmental Services and Water Utilities Department
and the California Integrated Waste Management Board. Fur
further information on these and other activities or services
available, call the HHMP Hotline at 619/235-2111. Household
hazardous waste is any unused or leftover portion of product
containing toxic chemicals. Any product used for maintaining
your residence or boat which is labeled, "Caution, Warning,
Danger, Poison, Toxic, Flammable or Corrosive," is considered
a household hazardous waste. Proper disposal is extremely
important! It is dangerous and illegal to discard household
hazardous material in the trash or down the drain. Used motor
oil and batteries are accepted at these events or can be
left with our maintenance department. Please contact Facilities
Manager Bruce Balicki at (619) 758-6333 for further information.
