Spain's renowned lone seafarer Álvaro de Marichalar, will give a talk for the SDYC Cruising Fleet Members on May 21st at 6:00pm.

Álvaro is currently circumnavigating the world *aboard the smallest vessel in the history of navigation.* 

Álvaro's mission is fighting against the dumping of plastic waste into the world's oceans, seas, lakes and rivers, whilst promoting sustainable solutions and

environmental awareness.  He is also celebrating the Fifth-Centennial of the First Circumnavigation.   He sails single handed and always in a standing up position aboard his tiny 11-foot craft named NUMANCIA. 

Alvaro de Marichalar is a member of the Royal Academy of the Sea. Explorer, Businessman, Lecturer, and Environmental Activist.

Among others, Álvaro is a member of the Yacht Club Mónaco and the Explorers Club NYC.
