This July we will venture all the way to Glorietta Bay for a very informal, ad lib, raft-up cruise. We have a bulk permit from the Harbor’s Maritime Department to raft up adjacent to the golf course between the “Bridge” and Red Buoy #6. According to the Harbor, “vessels must use their sanitation devices… not anchor in the channel” and “due regard for the vessels draft and tidal flow should be given.” We have been there before.
This is the Dutch Shoe Regatta weekend and there will be hundreds of sabots sailing to CYC from La Playa. That race begins at 1200 (12:00 noon) in La Playa. To avoid this crowd and not foul their air, skippers should leave by 11:45. Best to avoid the police dock area between 12:15 and 12:30 as many of the sabots converge in that area. The finish will take place between 3:00 and 4:00 PM. Get rafted and watch the finish.
Our ability to use the CYC guest dock and dinghy dock is in question given the number of sabots coming in; we are working on this; hence, ad lib. Sign up will close on July 15, so we can get the Harbor the paper work on time.
