THE PANAMA POSSE RALLY (founded 2017)
The Panama Posse is a group of adventurers and sailors and one of the largest boat rallies in the world. Participants connect from east coast or the west coast via the Panama Canal and Caribbean countries. The mission is to enable private yachts to participate in this 5,500 nm voyage utilizing modern communications protocols, group purchase power and creating a connected yet independent fleet.
BIO: Captain Dietmar Petutschnig, founder of the Panama Posse
Born and raised in Austria, moved to the Americas and spent seven years in Chile prior to immigrating to New York City in 1987. Dual citizen of the USA & Austria. Fluent in English, German and Spanish, with a working knowledge of Portuguese & Italian - learned a bit of French while in the South Pacific. Married to Suzanne (Army-brat) from Texas and our dog Maximilian. Since 2008 have sailed across the Pacific and to several island nations logging over 53,000 nm with multiple media articles in the yachting press.
