Whether you're planning to hop across to Catalina or simply enjoy the pristine, calm waters of Santa Margarita Harbor, and all that's happening in Oceanside Harbor, this cruise is a favorite of SDYC's Cruising Fleet. We are guests of the U.S. Marines in their exclusive anchorage called Del Mar Basin, located on the other side of Oceanside Harbor.
We have lots planned for you this year!
Friday at 6pm - Cocktails and Chef John's barbecue baby back pork ribs (or chicken) at the "friendliest yacht club in Southern California" - Oceanside Yacht Club.
Saturday at 11am - For all of you sailors who want to show your stuff or those who simply want to have fun, we've arranged to rent some of SMYC's sailboats for some friendly racing with the Santa Margarita Yacht Club, right in front of our raftup.
For those inclined, paddleboarding in the calm waters of Santa Margarita Harbor, kayak rental from SMYC, walks on the Camp Pendleton beach or Oceanside Harbor are always a treat.
Saturday at 3pm - a tour of the YATYAS museum - honoring the US Marine amphibious assaults during WWII and Korea.
Saturday evening at 5pm - The "Race Committee" will issue some fun awards, as we begin cocktail hour, followed by barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs with our SMYC friends at their facility.
Sunday - breakfast on our boats or a dinghy ride to Ramone's Beach Cantina or any of the restaurants in Oceanside Harbor.
All the events are also open to non-boaters, so please feel welcome to drive to Oceanside and join us in relaxing Del Mar Basin or at any of the activities. We'll close registration five days prior to the event for planning purposes, so sign up early. If you are driving, we'll send directions and parking instructions prior to the trip.
